Vaccines help create herd immunity – but if such protection only lasts a matter of months, how effective could any treatment be?

The findings from a surveillance study of 365,000 people raise a terrifying prospect – one of Britain as some sort of Narnia, where it is always winter but never Christmas.

Depends on which herd of cows you give it to!

2. People with good immune systems don't even produce anti bodies during an infection because their T-cells have successfully fought the virus off before anti bodies have been produced (which can take up to 14 days)

Immunity is not just down to antibody levels, many other factors such T cells play a role watch this for better explanation

Vaccines speed up herd immunity which can happen naturally and has happened already with Covid in certain parts of the world. The only reason we are seeing these headlines is because they want to make the vaccine an annual or bi-annual one or who knows why not quarterly?!!

1. Blah blah blah after a viral infection of any kind has passed antibodies will start to decrease (your body is efficient & doesn't produce something that's no longer required) long term immunity is given by T-cells

Antibody persistence does vary by vaccine. eg: 1/2 life for varicella 50 yr, tetanus 11yr. But caveat: antibodies are only more approachable metric to measure immunity. B cells and T cells also contribute to disease resistance.

It depends if you have a functioning Track and Trace and not the data mining exercise we have?

If it’s a case of short lived protection... clearly defined and targeted periods during the year should be marked as the time to vaccinate to help limit large spikes

Thanks for cheering me up

Because the method /type of vaccine doesn't always rely on antigens/antibodies? Stop spreading fear with half understood science

Over in minutes: Special Boat Service's 'textbook' raid shows why they have fearsome reputationThis was a mission seemingly tailor-made for the Special Boat Service, and they performed it faultlessly. Yeah...those underfed unequipped and unarmed civilians were tough. I've huge respect for UKSF. But we must be careful not to let this incident be used as some sort of political victory for this government. It's more than likely to have been several unarmed asylum seekers, not a terrorist invasion of the IoW as it's being made out to be.
