Why No 10's Covid-19 death toll slides don't tell the whole story

As the UK’s official death toll from Covid-19 passed Italy’s for the first time, it is worth noting that one month ago, government sources were privately sceptical of a study by world-leading disease data analysts that projected the UK would be the worst-affected country in Europe. The study anticipated 66,000 deaths by August. The total figure on Tuesday, which is certain to be an underestimate, was already more than 32,000.

Please bring back the Brexit debate, this is getting boring. They want you to believe the government is lying, the scientists are lying the medical experts are lying, the statistics are lies. Nope just a classic effort to de stabilize the country.

Clearly this government isn’t very good at counting. If it wasn’t for journalists they would still be boasting about the lowest number of deaths and having the best strategy in the world and being the world leaders in, well, everything they do really...

Are you sure that ‘the UK’s daily figures only included deaths where the patient tested positive for Covid-19.’? Deaths are recorded from the wider community which it seems no one else is doing and includes deaths where covid is suspected.

Because in the world of statistics, we can make graphs show what we exactly want them to show.

So only those tested will be included in our stats; so don’t do many tests if you want to pursue Herd Immunity (So as not to scare the voters and keep them n your side). When shown that the nhs is to be overwhelmed the voters would lose confidence, govt locked down

Because they don’t provide enough tests.
