My grandmother always said 13 was her lucky number just to be at odds with mainstream opinion. She never voted either she reckoned they weren't worth the walk.
I always understood it stems from the 'destruction' of the Knights Templar when the were all betrayed by the then French King & Pope.. and this was on Friday 13th.. I myself was born on Friday 13th... Mmm... 🙄
