that Amazon's website is flooded with fake five-star reviews for products from unfamiliar brands.
"So we have decided not to do them but then people think there is something to hide. You can't win. It's really frustrating."Even verified reviews might not be all they seem. Some consumers fear their personal data might have been used by sellers to gather fake"verified reviews". The seller then uses the individual's details to set up a new account which it uses to post glowing reviews of its products.
"I think when the first parcel arrived it was a case of bemusement, then I checked with my wife if she'd used my account to buy something. He added:"We all know there are laws in place over how data is handled but it's made me very, very nervous to the point I'm going shopping back on the High Street - even though it tends to be more expensive."
"When it comes to purchasing, especially for items which are easy to buy, we expect this level of convenience and ease," she says."Above a certain threshold, people will go for a slightly lower rating," Ms Nahai explains, citing a study where a product with more reviews but a 4.3 rating was more popular than the same product with fewer reviews and a 4.4."We tend to distrust perfect ratings because it looks too good to be true," she says.
Because inspired by the bbc
For money?....duh!
This is fraud, pure and simple. Anyone who has bought a product on his recommendation surely has a right to claim against him.
Because you work for the mainstream media
Because you’ve got a very sad life.
Gotta get paid Boi
Used to be, when you bought a product or service, you might randomly be selected to give feedback. Now you can barely even click on a site, ANY site without getting a 'feedback!' pop updates. Or emailed asking for reviews. Customer service has turned to customerharassment
First time I saw this, I thought it was an article about the BBC itself, constantly spouting leftie Remoaner rubbish all day long.
I give this story 5 stars
In my experience, when you buy a product 'you usually get what you pay for'; for a service (e.g. hotel ratings, and esp. restaurants), I am usually dismissive of 5 star and 1-2 star ratings as outside the norm. Surely writing fake reviews for money or recompense is fraud?
Definitely a BBC News journalist candidate.
Must work for the bbc then
Im going to guess that it’s because you are a paid corporate shill who thinks nothing of hoodwinking proper people to part with their hard earned monies to buy a product that might not work for them with the lies you publish, for personal gain as a review? apologies,Fake review.
'Why I write fake stories about the 'gender pay gap' ' - BBC journalist
Oh and tit for tat , one gave me one years ago out of spite , silly woman forgot about her husbands business so I gave him a glowing one . 😂 we then agreed to add follow ups
You need to read between lines , over the top fake , really angry fake and then spot friends of owners , and the owners own fake reviews . Few review sites can be trusted these days.
Im houng to guess that is because you are a paid corporate shill who thinks nothing of hoodwinking proper people tompart withntheir hard earned monies to buy a product that might not work for them on the lies you punlish as a review? Apologies a Fake review.
Wow is he sick in the head. Everyone's doing it. Heard that at Nuremburg.
He probobally gets well paid for writing fake reviews
The stars are ambiguous Frankly this spirals when people buy products or services waste family money because of these morons. Stars should represent criteria. Each star relevant meets a level of expectaion from customer experience products etc
Why I don’t care 🤷🏾♀️...
Because you're weak and unwilling to do the right thing.
Nutters
'The manager has actually told us to ask customers to do the review in front of us after their meals' As a customer I would take this opportunity to write an absolutely scathing review, focusing on this abysmal practice, and make sure the manager knew I wrote it and why.
They write what they write because they are mentally challenged...
If it smells like sh*te, it usually is ... 🤔
i bet they are just copying wott you do bbc
Typical attitudes of so many people today. I find the most honest reviews on Amazon are the ones giving 3 stars
Dishonest so and so!😡
Isn’t that fraud? He should be arrested.
Must be a desire to copy Big Brother from George Orwell's 1984.
Arrest this man.
Not sure he is really explaining or justifying himself there. ‘Everyone’ does it? No they don’t
What a sad individual, needs to get a proper job.
