The global goth community has banded together after a woman was told to remove her dramatic makeup before boarding the subway in Guangzhou, China, apparently for fear of distressing other passengers. The response? Thousands of goths posted photos on the Chinese social media site Weibo of themselves with wild hair and blacked-out eyes in protest – and it soon spread to Twitter.
We all go through different and often strange phases in life in our search for meaning or love in life. Obsession is often part of the package, going to extremes, until we find a balance or something/somebody new.
Goth look - Victorian era clothes and lots of black. Conventional look - 3 layers of orange tan, dodgy hair extensions, bad shoes, tight blazers, wiry beards and mini sparkly dresses in the middle of winter. I find one far more scarier and shocking than the other.
Why insult them with headlines that treat them differently from anyone else? They are who they want to be and it's no-one else's business to 'diversify' them....
What is so shocking, seems that they are disappointed that people accept them for who they are
China is generally opposed against self-expression as it disrupts the assimilated collective they're trying to turn their society into.
Transgender is the new goth. Change my mind.
