Before introducing new rules banning private gatherings of more than six people, the health secretary pointed the finger at young people for increasing rates of coronavirus. But could a blame game be counterproductive?

From this week, private gatherings of more than six people have been banned in England, Scotland and Wales. The tough new rules come as official figures show cases of Covid-19 are now doubling every week.

When it's young people doing the old bllx to social distancing rules, who else IS there to blame?

I don't blame any one, I can protect myself, they don't need to protect me.

Shitty article. I blame the Millennials. Selfish. Irresponsible. Assholes. When I was their age, I was already tired of the bar scene. But my existence the did not impact others. That would have changed everything for me. Millennials? Not so much. I fucking hate them.

I disagree. It’s not 65 yr olds getting drunk and having orgies; for the most part. Shame and blame!

kuku27 So true

Then according to your logic we should begin to blame the sick and the dying, they’re on the way out anyways and would have no effect on your future political plans...

Give citizen data on Covid-19 cases/ hospitalizations/ deaths/ etc.; discriminated by age, gender, race, location, etc., so to take their own informed decisions. Who profit from keeping citizens in the dark? The Covid-19 fight and polarization profiteers.

Bull crap! Bad logic! Problem with culture today is folks want to have all the privileges and no responsibilities!

The young appear to have gained superpowers. According to the govt, they can simultaneously save the economy and also kill your granny. A dangerous group, stay away.

Because the government told us to go back to work, to eat out at restaurants and go to pubs?
