Prof Matthew Goodwin tells committee terms like ‘white privilege’ creating problems in poor communities

MPs investigating underachievement among disadvantaged white pupils in England have been told that the communities they come from are suffering “a status deficit” and the use of terms like “white privilege” could create further problems., who has written on populism, immigration and Euroscepticism, was giving evidence to a virtual hearing of the Commons cross-party education committee.

The article starts refreshingly honestly but ends up in such a predictable way.

I object to the working class being pitched against each other- but we must appreciate that telling someone they are privileged when they are obviously not is only going to cause resentment. We need to start focusing on class and the structural class inequality

Don’t bring that up. The whole deprivation and inequality issue needs looking at and the British media & political establishment refusing to see it as haves have nots - prefers instead to do it by genders & colours. Being poor is shit whatever gender or colour you are.

Good job England. The only acceptable and tolerated form of racism is hurting our young people.
