Letters: Jeremy Beecham says the fact that Conservatives are vehemently attacking Keir Starmer is telling. Donald Roy says it is not the case that only true Corbyn candidates were rewarded with volunteers and resources

Polly Toynbee’s interesting analysis of the Labour leadership contest omitted to explore one critical facet: which candidate would the Tories least like to succeed? Given that they seem already to be vehemently attacking Keir Starmer, shouldn’t Labour party members conclude that he is the candidate to support?• Polly Toynbee says: “Only true Corbyn candidates were rewarded with volunteers and resources” in the general election.

Lol labour are a complete failure. It will be centuries before they get in. But then when all you do is try to undermine the British folk and do nothing but complain but reap rewards you don’t deserve to. Tories carry the country and the left know it.

Corbyn, that's why they got their mates in the press to destroy him from day one, didn't they Guardian? 🤔

Hasn't been born yet....

Probably the one the right wing press keeps trying to smear 🤷🏻‍♂️ RLB

The guy in the picture

None of the ones running

The Guardian supports primarily Third Way candidates.

Ron Pickering

The Tory’s fear a Labour leader who is actually elected by Labour members in a non rigged election

Harold Wilson !

None. They’re all knob heads

As an ex labour voter, we will never vote for them until JC and his jokers get lost into the abyss

None of them.

They were terrified of Corbyn. Johnson refused interviews and debates in full knowledge Corbyn had a manifesto. They also strategically belittled his policies, and then stole them.

Sir Kier, but he is tainted by his support for Corbyn.

Whichever one is popular but hard to smear with anti-semetism

Boris Johnson. He's the one that has already doomed the Tories

None. They're all equally useless. You've got Boris for at least 10 and realistically 15 years. There's also a good chance the next labour PM hasn't even been born yet.

Sadly they fear no one.

RICHARD BURGON......

loll!!None Labor leaders are all wooses.

Sajid Javid expected to back HS2 despite spiralling costsChancellor’s decision comes amid calls from new Tory MPs for project to be scrapped Found the magic money tree, has he? Mostly because those “costs” are ending up in the pockets of Conservatives donors and allies. HS2 is another scam to rob the taxpayer and reward the crooked Tories. Financial acumen!
