a rip of tax thats what it is

Travel tax!!!

Theft.

It's an environmental tax to discourage air travel. Just another public tax ripoff.

A feckin RIP off

So private company - have money from taxpayers - check . They collect air passenger duty and now they don't have money to pay Check. What a crap.

Here's a thing knobs. Flyby is owned by a company called connect airways, who in turn is owned by virgin and stobbart. Yes that fucking tax evading crook branson. That says it all , he's worth 5 billion but would still see this firm go bust and all employees loose there jobs.

Why aren't you questioning the fact that Branson & Delta just sat on their hands & did bugger all despite being more than able to? Instead the govt are saviours? BBCBias

Happy to hear any reasonable explanation as to how Flybe owes £100m, or indeed any amount, in Air Passenger Duty. That money is collected at point of sale, from travelling passengers So why was it not immediately passed on to the Exchequer, to whom it is owed?

Oh that’s easy- It’s a new marketing and PR term deployed by the airline which translates to: “Sit the F**k Down, Shut Up And if I feel like it I Won’t have you Thrown Off This Flight!!!!” 😀 .....Now put your tray table up...”

Tell the British Airways Irish twat to FO

Too little.

Fake news great idea!

It's a sin tax.

Actually it's a difficult duty. I think.

If you're going to pursue a strategy to price out flying for environmental reasons, which is both laudable and probably necessary you better have a feasible alternative or alternatives on the drawing board or people are just going to laugh at you. Bizarre though it may seems Would green groups step in and support the employees and their families had Flybe ceased trading? And what of the costs to the UK infrastructure?.Green groups happy to put their hands in their pockets? No, thought not

Flybe in talks to delay air passenger duty billA deferment is one option the airline is discussing with the government to secure a rescue deal. It’s a regressive virtue signalling eco tax that should be scrapped anyway BorisJohnson sajidjavid This is a shrewd policy making. Cutting PassengerDuty benefits all carriers. In the short term it saves Flybe, but it also takes the pressure off the whole industry. The solution complies with StateAid law as there’s no selectivity in the provision of the benefit. I like the way the government are happy to help out an airline but did nothing to help the steel industry
