A COUPLE recently found out what happens if you fail to make it back in time for your cruise the hard way.
Passengers should either book a cruise ship excursion, which will return them to the ship on time, or to allow at least a couple of hours after a private trip to make it back to the vessel. However, in some cases, captains have been know to wait for passengers, especially if the following day's itinerary is at sea.If you find yourself stranded, you should first find a port assistant who can help you get in contact with the ship.In some cases, they may also be able to send a tender - a smaller boat - to come and get you.
You may be able to join at the next destination that the ship has docked in to continue with the trip.
