Boris Johnson will prorogue Parliament at the close of play today - here’s everything you need to know about what happens next

The Prime Minister had met the Queen at Balmoral in August and asked Her Majesty to suspend Parliament, seeking "an end to the current parliamentary session in the second sitting week in September". A new session of Parliament will begin with a Queen's Speech on October 14.
