Dorset Police said Emma Smart, 45, was arrested on Thursday evening after an incident at Catch At The Old Fish Market in Weymouth.Mrs Smart was charged with failing to comply with a Section 35 direction. Animal Rebellion, the protest group supporting Mrs Smart, said the activist approached the table where Sir David was dining in an attempt to deliver a letter to him.Sir David Attenborough was spotted in Weymouth Harbour on Thursday and spent time talking with locals
According to Animal Rebellion the ecologist targeted his visit to the Catch restaurant because of its expensive menu.Mrs Smart said in a statement: "The Catch is a symbol of excess and inequality in today's world, Weymouth has average wages amongst the lowest in the UK and is at huge risk of sea level rises.
In every single documentary he has narrated since it became an issue, David Attenborough has highlighted the effect of climate change on the environments he reports about. He is a tireless champion of ecological management. How could she get it so wrong?

I'm not vegan but consume less under the same values (i dislike their cult-like thing). I do more for that movement than most vegans do and I think that intervention is needed(eg sea shepherd). What she does (like soup throw at paintings) is more virtue signaling than efficient
It says he was 'approached' so was this in anger or admiration? Everyone knows that Sir David is a national treasure, I am certain that if anyone tried to upset or harmed this icon they would immediately become public enemy no 1 in this country.
If the bbc is suggesting that the police have incorporated the criminal act of 'approaching' into activities the cps have to decide. Perhaps they would revive what little investigative qualities they still may have and tell give us more than a provocative & meaningless headline
