Wetherspoon update on Nottinghamshire pub put up for sale

It's business at usual at a Wetherspoon pub in Nottinghamshire which has been up for sale since September. The Widow Frost in Mansfield was one of 32 pubs in the national chain placed on the market in September 2022. It is the only one in the county affected.

A further seven pubs in England and Scotland were put up for sale in November. The decision to sell off the pubs followed a previous warning that the chain faced losses of £30m due to rising staff wages and repairs. Ten pubs have since been sold, Wetherspoon has revealed, in areas including Basildon, Bodmin and Worcester. However, The Widow Frost - one of three in Mansfield - has yet to find a buyer.Wetherspoon spokesman Eddie Gershon said: “Wetherspoon is talking to some interested parties. At present Wetherspoon has not exchanged on the sale of the pub.

“The pub continues to operate as a Wetherspoon outlet and will continue to do so unless/until it is sold.
