Bid for 20% of OneWeb to replace Galileo after Brexit ‘looks like nationalism trumping industrial policy’

The UK government’s plan to invest hundreds of millions of pounds in a satellite broadband company has been described as “nonsensical” by experts, who say the company doesn’t even make the right type of satellite the country needs after Brexit.

The incompetence keeps on piling up!

Pah, experts, what do they know? It’s the will of the people to buy the wrong equipment in the name of brexit.

FFS

Oh, how the mighty have fallen! Now, repeat after me. OM!

‘Mates rates’ again?

Not at all. Usual happening with any choice.

Garden bridges, Boris Buses, ferry company's that don't ferry, track and trace that doesn't trace or track ,now satellites that don't satellite. This is not the end (Unfortunately ) It is not the beginning of the end (Gawd ) But perhaps the end of the beginning. (We're fucked)

World leaders? Probably one of Lord Dom of Weekend Excursion's family, friends ,relatives involved as is the norm.

Hey RobertJenrick, you haven't happened to be seated next to someone who builds satellites lately, have you?

Walter Mitty government

Chris Grayling in charge by any chance?

Let's look at the facts. The whole business is based out of Ireland despite offices in London. Thus avoiding paying any UK tax. Equally, the US arm is Chapter 11 or thereabouts. The UK has two directors both American. What's British about that?

Gromit!!!!

Do they have a so called ‘ high powered’ tech person who is in fact a Walter Mitty character who sits in a corner somewhere and misorders all sorts of things- track and trace, satellites, things from Turkey etc who has not been found out yet, if so - why not?

Any Tory donators in this shit-show?

They may be able to repurpose the satellites as “Track and Trace” to replace the failed app in addition to “SatNav”. 😜

I saw two shooting stars last night I wished upon them But they were only satellites! It's wrong to wish upon space hardware But I wish, I wish, I wish you cared.

Someone filming The Twilight Zone UK at the moment?

It does indeed sound a very ass backward approach. Wing and a prayer is very apt.

and they've gone wrong!

Unsurprisingly incompetent.

Fucking clown show.

UK govt tech in a nutshell. Conned by the wrong companies. Very, very, very expensive. Doesn’t work.

18EFCDom78 Hahaha life feels like one big windup at the moment

Another great success

They know it has to be accurate right? to be worthwhile. I mean it's not the same company who did the coronavirus app, is it?

why pay for it? no one is using it. just switch to GPS
