Whether you think it's a marketing ploy or a day to celebrate those you love, Valentine's is right around the corner and the pressure to cook that perfect romantic meal is on. You might not be a Gordon Ramsay when it comes to rustling up three-courses, but often you don't need to be to impress them.
The signs are clearly visible on what is and is not included, so you needn't worry about overspending or getting any items that aren't included in the price. Although advertised as one main, one side, one dessert and one drink, you can easily buy enough for two.Having done some research online, we were hoping to grab ourselves a steak dinner for the evening, a typical treat for a day like Valentine's.
The options included three Cheese and Chive Cauliflower Cheese and heart-shaped potato croquettes. Call us boring, but we went for the Triple Cooked Chips, they looked good after all. To keep in the spirit of all things love, we went for the six Raspberry Royal Profiteroles, all topped with sweet fondant and red "lustred hearts," they looked good and were bound to taste good too. For the drink, we had seen online that Tesco were offering a bottle of Prosecco, usually worth £10, within the deal too.
Happy with our choices, we set off home to try our goodies, which is where this tale gets a little bit more positive. Our chips were just as good as you would expect for Triple Cooked Tesco Finest, they were chunky and fluffy, with a much-welcome crisp on the outer edges.
