Away from Piccadilly Circus and Oxford Street take yourself a little further to the ultra-modern and urban area of Battersea where you can find one of the most stunning and sophisticated spots for afternoon tea.
We were taken to our cosy table, located in the corner of the bar, where we took in the sprawling views of the city, before choosing our preferred tea to kick things off. We went for a White Peony tea - unopened silver buds of emerald green leaves of the White Peony loose leaf white tea - delicious! With four warm fluffy scones to delve into, we couldn’t resist tucking into these first, which brought the most controversial question of all, is it jam or cream first? After we settled on this, we dived in and they were just as delicious as they looked! Soft, light and sweet - and clearly freshly homemade.
For the cakes, we’re indulged in a cinnamon custard tart with raspberries, a chocolate & banana mousse with white port & lime cream and a pear & almond choux bun, passion fruit crémeux. Bursting with flavours the small sizes were perfect so we could comfortably try each one without really pushing our waistline.
