Working-class Britons include old, young, black, white, minorities and many others. Only by uniting can they be empowered again, says Faiza Shaheen of the Centre for Labour and Social Studies

What makes a person working-class? Being northern? Working in a factory? Being a plumber? Being white? Voting Brexit? If you watch TV or read a newspaper you will probably think all of the above. Unless you’re actually working-class, that is.

We don't. You miss a fundamental point. It's the idea of “AUTHENTICITY” that's central to the ethos of 'working-class', notably 'MORAL AUTHENTICITY'. REAL UK 'working-class' are adverse to the parade of SELF-RIGHTOUSNESS flaunted by middle/upper class AND religious groups(any)

Working class means you work for a living, either in a low skilled job or a trade. If you have a profession then you are middle class. If you have land you are upper class. You don’t mean it needs redefining, you mean our perception needs to change.

This story has nothinhmg to do with the working class. The working class are the people your kind call NAZIs and racists. The Tories have not been waging a class war, it is the middle-class left-wing metropolitan elite, who cannot fathom why ordinary people voted to leave the EU.

It does not mean anything. Having definitions for class is inequality against the EqualityAct. Today people who say they are WorkingClass are rich pleading poverty.

Nope

It means people that have to wash their hands after a day's work and can barely make ends meet on the wage they earn. Working poor!

Having a job....?

I can give you a hint. People that have a legitimate job or company?

It's already working, the metropolitan areas are already expanding at breakneck speeds.

Chimney sweeps and shoeshines?

Paying taxes to give handouts to the wealthy.
