They may only be five matches in, but Scotland U21s can go joint top of their Euro 2025 qualifying group with a win over Kazakhstan.
Scot Gemmill's side currently sit second in Group B on ten points - three behind leaders Spain and ahead of Belgium in third on goal difference, with the latter taking on Malta this evening. Three points in Paisley would keep the young Scots right in the mix to reach the finals in Slovakia next year. The Spanish and Belgians go head-to-head next Tuesday, so one or both will lose some ground.
That makes a win at the SMiSA stadium vital. An impressive victory away in Belgium could be the springboard for a successful campaign, and they welcome back Josh Doig, Max Johnston and Tommy Conway for this one after Doig was called up to the senior squad last November, while his teammates missed out through injury.
Man City's Lewis Fiorini also returns, but Gemmill has had to do without star man Ben Doak. The Liverpool youngster has been ruled out since December with a knee injury. Premiership regulars Lyall Cameron, Michael Mellon and Josh Mulligan of Dundee join Hearts kid Aidan Denholm in the squad, alongside Connor Barron of Aberdeen.
