Inspiring war hero will climb Kilimanjaro despite losing both legs in Afghanistan

James, 31, from Middlesbrough, said: “Some might see this as an impossible challenge but I know I can do it.”“I am mentally strong enough and physically strong enough and even without legs, I will do it.”

James had only been in Helmand province for two months with 2nd Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment when he suffered the devastating injuries. As well as losing both legs he had a broken pelvis and spent six weeks in hospital and a further four-and-half years rehabilitating before being discharged.
