As memories are revived of the second world war and the 1970s, it is time for a major rethink of economic strategy

Photograph: Stefan Rousseau/Getty ImagesPhotograph: Stefan Rousseau/Getty Imageshe Australian comedian Bill Kerr used to begin his BBC appearances with: “I don’t want to worry you, but …” Funny how those words came back to me last week as I watched the television coverage of the criminal bombing of homes in Ukraine.

Didn't really need a war just a modicum of common sense. At the time there was Trump West and Putin East and never more need for a united cohesive Europe. Brexit earsrolled over for Putin like the fools they are.

It's done lads. Move on.

Oh! Leaving the EU was a folly? Yet the UK has been giving training to the Ukraine forces long before the EU (which had constantly tried to attract the Ukraines gaze) and what was their initiative - at the start Germany managed to muster up just 5000 helmets.

Nationalism and not Globalisation took Britain away from Europe (English First) !

What political nonsense, the UK has been able to act whilst the EU dithers, facts prove that the UK has taken decisions like supplying food, medicine and weaponry far more quickly than the EU who have to debate their every move. Thank goodness we are out of the Brussels chaos.

Ukraine wants to join the EU, would love an EU army no doubt and its refugees require immediate, unbureaucratic assistance. All of these things are an anathema to the desires of the UK’s Brexit lovers.

Another war on the continent has highlighted Britain's wisdom in separation and remaining apart.

If anything it is proving that Britain has not become isolationist as painted. Cooperation through, the G7, NATO and the EU leadership is a given in times of crisis.

What a load of bollox.

Putin may be losing information war, not battlefield war: BILL ROGGIOROGGIO: We were told from the opening days of the war that the Russian military would break. Yet, over three weeks in, Putin remains president and the Russian war machine has not collapsed. Bill Roggio 'served as a signalman and infantryman in the U.S. Army and New Jersey National Guard' - once I stop laughing I may read it for a giggle Russia is escalating the war in Ukraine by hitting targets in 20 km from borders of Poland. Anyone still believes Russia will stop the war in Ukraine? Any previous statements of Russian officials were false. Russia and Putin must be stopped now until it's not too late! 🤔🤐🤑All lost in the air, gains, price hikes, and only for America.
