A council is to temporarily close its historic headquarters and relocate staff and services due to the "significant" rise in energy costs.
County Hall, which houses the council chamber, was identified following a review as having low occupancy but high heating costs. The council said it had not ruled out closing other building temporarily, though it has not revealed how much money it expects to save with the closure of County Hall.
I get it about the heating costs etc of this building but it should be used for so much more……if you haven’t been in this building you should, it’s stunning inside, it’s such a shame that it isn’t used for more events etc, such a waste
Get rid of local authorities they are waste of money, they make no sense, they don't let communities grow, no wonder council employees have job for life paid by Taxpayers chief executive of this council earns more then PM of UK lol
Well they will be in debt with all the backhanders , like in knottingley spending over 1million to do up a building when it was cheaper to knock it down and build a brand new building
How can a council that is £11million in debt offer £3.5million in cost of living handouts to locals. Something doesn’t add up.
