A vulnerable Scots dad has told how he has been left unable to afford to feed his kids after he lost his job overnight.
After finding himself on the wrong end of the legal system in the past, Craig says working for ACU gave him a sense of self-worth and the job is what got him up in the morning. He has called for Apex Scotland, the company's parent charity, to find a solution. "I've got Asperger's Syndrome so any change, whether it's good or bad, is not good for me. ACU was the most safeguarded job I've ever had in my life. It's not only repaired me as a man but it has repaired me as a parent.
Last week, ACU announced its closure on Facebook. General Manager Alison Forsyth, as well as former Operations Manager Alasdair Scott, had both reached out to Apex to voice their frustration over the handling of the situation. A spokesperson for Apex Scotland said the charity was suffering financial difficulties which they could "no longer support".
