BREAKING: Visiting family and friends in their homes banned in Scotland

Scotland is banning household visits across the country from Wednesday, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has said.

The First Minister said that data suggests not meeting in home measure has reduced the spread of the virus in the west of Scotland – and that she hopes extending it to the rest of the country will also reduce transmission. ‘We are trying to give you as much flexibility as we can. In return, please work with us and do your best to stick to the rules, for everyone’s sake.’
