A village pub in Cornwall has had a letter from one of the world's largest fashion magazines asking it to change its name.
The company's letter, seen by the BBC, said "We are concerned that the name you are using is going to cause problems because as far as the general public is concerned a connection between your business and ours is likely to be inferred. Mr Graham told the BBC: "At first glance I thought it was one of the locals having a laugh, but apparently it is real.
"I did explain I will allow them to use the un-capitalised version of the word vogue, because obviously that is to be in fashion or whatever, but they are to stop using the capitalised version because that is ours.
Easy mistake to make I guess - mixing up a village pub and a magazine for fashionistas…I can see why they’re getting antsy…not !
Americans, they honestly seem to believe they own the bloody world...
Narcissistic bullies!
Vogue village established around 1700, Vogue magazine established 1892, Vogue magazine can go f*ck itself....
Write back and ask Find a Nast to change the name of its magazine as it infringes
Let them change theirs. 😄
what a crock of shite! The village should definitely start 'Vogue Magazine', and let them humiliate themselves in court with some stupid barrister trying to argue such a nonsense case. Who do these multinationals think they are? Fight the case ... do a Go Fund Me ... I'm in!
