Suggestion that coronavirus surge may be attributable to single source of infection described as one of several possibilities

Victoria has announced 66 new cases of Covid-19 as the state’s health minister revealed Melbourne’s wave of new cases could potentially be traced back to a single “super spreader” of the virus.

Why is my first reaction that this is a gov't diversionary tactic? Smacks of desperation and blame shedding.

'It's so arbitrary': Melbourne street split down the middle by Covid-19 lockdownThe West Footscray side of Summerhill Road faces business shutdowns and school holidays indoors while the Footscray side has been spared Obviously, if there is going to be lock-down then it must apply everywhere, the middle of the street/ along the ridges of houses....🤣 That’s sad. However, take masks and safety guidelines very seriously to protect everyone around you. Doesn’t matter what people say. Public health is everyone’s responsibility. Except it's not 'arbitrary'. It's being done by postcodes which, yes, sometimes run down the centre of a street. You need to set boundaries somehow and by postcodes is a very good way to do it. People know their postcodes so it provides very clear communication of the zones.
