As she prepares to walk down the aisle this year, former Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison has opened up about her dreams of becoming a mum. The 36-year-old presenter, who has frozen her eggs, addressed her age in an emotional statement, saying she's focusing on "quality over quantity" when it comes to the time she'll have left to spend with the little one.
In the lengthy caption alongside the quote, Vicky explained why the words left her "upset" and defended her decision to wait before having her first baby. "My main issue with it is, we're still trying to make women feel bad about their choices, or in some cases the hand that life has dealt them that they've had absolutely no control over," she wrote.
"I was selfish, irresponsible, impatient, dealing with a complicated relationship with alcohol & I just wasn't ready. But I think about the mam I'm hoping to be in my late 30's or early 40's & I just know she is going to be different. She's travelled, had her lasses holidays, achieved so many things she wanted to.. She's ready for this next stage."
"The fact is, whenever we have children, whatever way we have children.. it is a blessing. And we just need to stop shaming women for their decisions. We need to be supporting each other, even if our journeys look different- they're still beautiful."
