The NHS is being urged to revamp its Healthy Start scheme, which offers vouchers to purchase cow’s milk and free supplements containing animal-derived vitamin D, to make it inclusive for vegans.
Given the higher costs of milk alternatives, you won’t find a host of those in financial poverty in a position to make the choice to be Vegan. And, frankly, given limited funding to provide for an increasing population of poor, this is appropriate (allergies not withstanding)
Not drinking milk is probably what makes Vegan’s ears go all pointy
