It's a huge accomplishment to knock an opponent out, but it's arguably more impressive to force a fighter to quit.
And this is what Vasyl Lomachenko did in four consecutive fights between November 2016 and December 2017.It began when he defended his WBO super featherweight world title against Nicholas Walters who was unbeaten at the time. Lomachenko was relentless over six straight rounds, before hurting his opponent in the seventh and by the time he made it back to his corner, Walters had decided he no longer wanted to continue.
Not only did Walters quit in the fight, but he stopped boxing altogether after that for the next seven years, before making a comeback in February earlier this year, and winning by unanimous decision over eight rounds. Next up, Lomachenko took on the overmatched Jason Sosa, who fought bravely but could not keep up with the Ukrainian's lightning-quick footwork and meticulous punch selection.
