US sees third major unemployment rise, with 6.6 million people filing last week amid coronavirus pandemic

Americans lost their jobs last week with 16 million jobs gone in the last three weeks as the coronavirus pandemic brought the US economy to a standstill, the US labor department confirmed on Thursday.
