The United States has formally determined that Russia has committed “crimes against humanity” during its invasion of Ukraine, Vice President Kamala Harris has said.

Speaking at the Munich Security Conference in Germany on Saturday, Ms Harris said, “We have examined the evidence. We know the legal standards. And there is no doubt. These are crimes against humanity.”She said if Russian leader Vladimir Putin succeeds in attacking international rules and norms, "other nations could feel emboldened to follow his example.

In a statement, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who is also at the conference, said members of Putin's forces "have committed execution-style killings of Ukrainian men, women, and children; torture of civilians in detention through beatings, electrocution, and mock executions; rape; and, alongside other Russian officials, have deported hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian civilians to Russia, including children who have been forcibly separated from their families.

US Vice President Kamala Harris speaks during the 2023 Munich Security Conference on February 18, 2023 in Munich, Germany.Russia, which has described the invasion of its neighbour as a “special military operation” to eliminate threats to its security, has denied intentionally targeting civilians or committing war crimes.

hahaha The USA has no room to talk about crimes against humanity. They are the biggest culprits. Does anyone even believe this nonsense.

No shit.

Perspective: if murder is wrong, are soldiers criminals? When the US went to Vietnam or Iraq, why were these a mission & not invasion? Murder is the _illegal_ taking of life. Exempt are wars, capital punishment & specialist ops ie, Bin Laden (according to those yet to be judged

Why not the zelensky government who over threw their legit government and tried to kill their president in 2014 Then they attacked east Ukraine because they didn't recognise an illegal coup.

I agree. It must also be noted that the UK & US commit 'crimes against humanity' when they unlawfully invade other countries.

That's nothing the UK committed CrimesAgainstHumanity in invading Iraq. It continues to commit crimes against humanity in 2023 - giving weapons to Saudi to kill in Yemen. Wikileaks' Julian Assange still in prison on no charges, and more.

And America kills and invades for peace. Never forget

Lol
