Update your Firefox NOW – 'Cyber crooks using major security flaw to hack users' ⚠

Mozilla, the company behind Firefox, has released an urgent update after it discovered a serious security flaw that could let hackers take control of your computer. The United States Department of Homeland Security's Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency has also issued a warning telling users to update.

This is because the issue is said to affect all desktop versions of Firefox, including Firefox ESR which is a system some schools, offices, governments and other organisations use to control desktop environments. However, it has credited the Chinese security firm Qihoo 360 for spotting the problem. It's thought that the type of flaw could allow an attacker to run malicious code on your computer or cause a browser to crash.

To double check what browser version you're using, click the menu button in the top right hand corner and then click 'About Firefox'. Then select 'Firefox updates' and you should be able to see what browser version you're running and may be given the option to click 'Restart to update Firefox' if necessary. Here's the global share your favourite browsers held on desktop devices in 2019, according to Statcounter...

Why Twitter’s new reply settings might be particularly useful for womenEvery so often the brains behind Twitter like to add 'improvements' to the platform, often without seemingly consulting the majority of users on whether they actually want the updates. Rubbish. You can block people already. And btw, I'm a woman. Besides, it will be 'helpful' for fake news accounts, for example. Or just do as most celebs and politicians do and have a T account that you never read. We're all three-dimensional people here.
