Amidst this backdrop there are questions as to whether Labour MPs will be whipped, essentially given an official order, to vote for the policy.
"I think on an issue as this we would see a whip but also you've got to respect people's views and their constituency interests as well, and the whipping arrangement will be determined in discussion in due course. She said:"My appeal to John McDonnell, to Jeremy Corbyn, to Keir Starmer, is allow MPs to have a free vote on an improved deal.
She also claimed that if there was a free vote on an improved Brexit deal,"tens, twenties, thirties would vote for an improved offer".More than 140,000 people have signed a Sky News petition for TV election debates - have you?
arhselk Flint for leader...👏👏👏
I think this is Labours attempt at keeping peace in the North of England.
So a minority then.
I bet she can’t even name 15…
Who gives a 🐒 about Labour most of its constituents voted leave & only 70 politicians? Shocking.. they might keep their job..
Neanderthals in the 21st century… what a shame!
They are the ones with morals who know what they promised at the referendum.
Diane Abbot has said the number is more like 3 million
You can't put your hopes on this lot
What a mess. Just call the thing off. That’s the aim all along
Tells me there are still 200+ treacherous MPs within the Labour Party then...
Claims?
So up to 70 labour MP’s actually respect labour voters wishes and reject the rejection of a vote vote.
Free the UK from the EU, money grabbing gits.
Brexiters that say not concerned about economy shd volunteer to be 1st to lose job. No issue if all as great as they say it'll be
Elections cannot be held repeatedly until a preferred outcome.People voted leave.Give effect to the will of the people. Its that simple.
A'h, it's that 'up to' phrase that provides for elastic numbers from 1to 70. Another clever political device, or bullshit if you prefer?
At least the TheIndGroup had the balls to resign before going against the leadership 70 cowards about to commit yet another fraud on there constitutents
The stupid point being that they haven't actually backed a second referendum, or indeed anything. They are just saying it in the hope it wins them votes. Their only policy is to disrupt the whole process so they can blame the Tories for something. For themselves, not the many.
And what about UK citizens? How many who voted Leave have now changed their mind? It's bloody absurd carrying on pushing for any Brexit deal which will leave us much worse off we are now within the EU! It's so hard to understand by all MPs?
I know its tough for MP's but if in doubt why not do what the people want.
The rule of law one referendum only
At least, that’s if they’re representing their constituents views
Damn, that’s not a flyer... back to the Westminster bars to come up with a better plot to betray brexit...
'Up to 70'. So that could be two.
Nobody's on your side anymore Jeremy,,step aside now please
Hmm. Some MPs still respect democracy
Hopefully it will be enough to stop one from happening.
