It's brought 'more life' to the area

Residents and shoppers in Arnold have said the influx of pubs and bars opening in the heart of the town centre is "fantastic", with one saying it is helping to "regenerate" the area. A number of venues have opened on Front Street in recent years.

The new venues are said to have brought "more life" to the area. One resident also said it's good to see the venues being used as places to meet for coffee or food during the day.Sharon Finch, 51, who lives in Arnold, said: "It's fantastic, it's regenerating the area and it makes it more appealing to younger people, too. You don't have to travel into Nottingham anymore.

Amanda Brentnall, 53, who lives in Arnold, said: "Three bars have all opened up on Front Street recently, and I've not had the chance to sample them yet but I will do when I can. It's also not just about the drinking but it's a nice place for people to meet and sit, have something to eat and have a cup of coffee, too."

"Having said that, I do think the bars have brought more life to the area. I don't go into the city centre much anymore, you've got everything you need in Arnold." The new openings come at a time of wider redevelopment.
