‘Pressure cooker’ A-level results day expected as Ucas predicts 80,000 students will use clearing

A sharp rise in students applying to UK universities through clearing – months later than the traditional admissions cycle – is paving the way for the biggest-ever scramble for places, with A-level results this week set to become a “pressure cooker” day, experts have warned.

In Italy! teachers were very generous as students easily got stars... lot of them will get the place at the UK universities ( as others from other countries)

The Catholic Church celebrates 700 years of formalising English and French. Universities in UK & Fr. the rector-committes set up by Rome gave us Queen's English for one. Basically to benefit the Church but the Anglo lingua-vulgaris is rampant in UK.. Shame..

This won't affect any of the children of MPs by the way, who are either in private schools or in high-performing state schools whose suggested grades won't be downgraded. Thousands of young people are going to be screwed over by this and we're just walking into it. Appalling.
