Fans queueing overnight for Wimbledon wrap up warm yesterday morning Wimbledon kicked off yesterday and for the most part tennis fans enjoyed a day of dry weather with some bursts of sunshine. Overnight queuers could be seen wrapped in blankets to stay warm early yesterday morning, but a little later visitors lay out on the grass as the sun showed its face.
Further north in England and into Scotland a dry and bright start is expected today, with some rain due in the afternoon. Temperatures will likely be a few degrees cooler than the south, sitting at around 18°C. The sunglasses were out as spectators, including Poppy Delevingne and Princess Maria-Olympia of Greece and Denmark, enjoyed day one of Wimbledon Wednesday and Thursday meanwhile will see more showers, some sun and a fair bit of wind in parts.
