Boris Johnson plans measures to counter fears of damage to Britain’s research reputation from no deal

Boris Johnson is to abolish any immigration restrictions on top scientists to counter fears that the UK’s research reputation could be seriously damaged by a no-deal Brexit.

If brexit wasn't a 100% about immigration, what the hell was it all about? So now will we see exemptions for people to keep care homes and the NHS working, and crops being picked also?

I thought they had with the hundreds of such scientists arriving by dingy off the coast of Kent.

They'd have to be crazy to come here. Government scientists are paid higher salaries in the rest of the EU and the USA. They are also held in higher esteem. They are unlikely to be welcomed by many of the population too, even if most people would be incapable of doing the job.

Why did we have such restrictions in the first place? Madness!
