The war in Yemen has seen thousands die and 20 million more live on the brink of famine since it formally began four years ago.

The total amount of British arms sold to the coalition being used in the Yemen war, rather than for other purposes, is unknown.

The report was carried out by the US-based University Network for Human Rights and Yemeni monitoring group Mwatana. There is currently no obligation on the government to publish the total value of the licence when it ends.A spokesperson for the Department for International Trade said:"The government takes its export responsibilities very seriously. We operate one of the most robust export control regimes in the world and keep our defence exports to Saudi Arabia under careful and continual review.

Breaking news: sky makes £1,168bn profit in 2017-18 by charging customers to hear one sided liberal biased news. No sign of change likely.

And the UK just gave £200m in aid to Yemen. Always worth following the money when something stinks.

Absolute wickedness. Any decent person would weep at the sight of what Saudi Arabia has done to the starving, emaciated children in Yemen. Instead, our politicians see it as a business opportunity.

one of many problems of this country that only the labour party has been taking seriously.

Left or right, or a bit of both.

They’d revert to sticks and stones if they had to. We may as well get the money rather than the Chinese or Russians.

Just when we thought we know it all .

UK urged to suspend arms sales to Saudi Arabia over Yemen warA letter from opposition party leaders says 'time is running out' and Yemen 'stands on the brink of catastrophe'. Saudi regime has decimated Yemen and has committed war crimes. Still selling them weapons is being complicit. It’s a disgrace. So these advocates prefer the Houthi to win, a paramilitary group of Iran’s IRGC? Why do we never hear about them, when they were the ones who started this war, are alien to Yemen, and continue to be the other combatant in this conflict? Who is urging Iran to suspend arms sales to Yemen ?
