Exclusive: 'To take people with us we need to show we’re willing to live our values and stand by them,' says Nandy

The former director of public prosecutions undoubtedly has announced that he is standing for the leadership. He is highly-regarded by both left-wingers and centrists in the party. As Labour’s shadow Brexit secretary, he played a key role in the party’s eventual backing of a second referendum. Before becoming an MP, he was a human rights lawyer - conducting cases in international courts including the European Court of Human Rights.

It might be the right thing to do but I can't imagine this Government doing it.

Flipping heck, a labour candidate I agree with, maybe the working class isn't doomed to be represented by charlatans trying to bribe people with their grandchildren's money in the form of national debt.

She is implicitly saying she thinks Trump will win re-election. If she didn’t think this she would know a new POTUS will be in place in a year and the US will rejoin ‘Paris’.

Sooooo Delusional. Let’s flush our economic interests down the toilet over something we have no control over!

I like this woman's drive and energy to save the environment! American should have never thought of leaving this vital Treaty? This wreck less President is putting industry over proven climate change consequences?

How can you link the two ? Sounds like something Trump would say if positions were reversed. Can't wave a big stick if all you have is a twig. Tough old world out there, need to be realistic!.

If we do deal with the US where does that leave us with other trade? Specifically china/far east, middle east, south America.

I agree with the sentiment but I’m not sure Brexit leaves UK in a negotiating position.

Labour candidates are now engaged in a desperate race to try to win the backing of a media that will instantly turn on whichever one of them wins. No wonder we're in for another decade of Tory rule. Spineless cretins the lot. Labour leadership: Nandy criticises remainers for not having vision of UK's place in world - live newsRolling coverage of the day’s political developments as they happen, including Boris Johnson and Jeremy Corbyn at PMQs Unfortunate from Nandy. Perhaps we understand the UK is a minor player on the world stage, weakened moreso thanks to the Tories gutting the Foreign Office. The EU gave us a bigger platform and backup when we pushed our own ideas I think most of them have: cold, alone and adrift between superpowers Nonsense. It is precisely because we have a world vision that sees international trade disputes and political tensions, that we are resolved to fight for Britain to return to the huge trading bloc of the EU and to build diplomatic bridges with our European neighbours.
