The UK government has 'absolutely the right' to tear up parts of post-Brexit trading arrangements in Northern Ireland, Kwasi Kwarteng has insisted

UK ministers threatening to walk away from talks; EU negotiators refusing to rewrite deals; and Irish politicians urging compromise for the sake of peace on the island.

The Westminster government is using the threat of domestic legislation in the same way that"no deal" was weaponised as leverage in previous talks.Despite repeated mentions of the Article 16 process by Business Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng, sources confirmed it was the separate option of domestic legislation that was being actively considered.

There’s also a degree of mismatch in the UK encouraging power-sharing to resume, while also using the stalemate as a way to try and squeeze concessions out of the EU. He said:"Ireland is also frustrated. We are dealing with the consequences now of a decision by the British people on our own country that has cost us hundreds of millions of euros, that is risking the peace process and its institutions on the island of Ireland.

He keeps saying he's going to do it many many times but has he actually done it yet. He's all talk and waffle and no action on the difficult matters

Wanksi adding to the Tory retreat on Boris’ oven ready half cooked deal. A very British cock up!

But maybe, no Vespa.

Why does this smell like Russia to Ukraine, what absolute right?

OK, i'm real pervert, this Woman can be.

If they tear it up then they can forget about any kind of trade deal with America,America simply won’t accept the fact it may inflame the troubles again🤷‍♂️Signing something just to get it over the line & then reneging on it b/c you screwed up is a prime example of incompetence!

As a majority of elected MLA's don't want it ripped up (including the largest party), what 'right' is that exactly 🤔

Kwasi ain’t judge nor jury. His words sound assured but meaningless.
