Labour has moved the writ for the Hartlepool byelection to take place, as expected, on 6 May, when there are also local, mayoral and police and crime commissioner elections in England, as well as elections to the Scottish and Welsh parliaments.
This was debated on the first part of Jeremy Vine's show yesterday including opinion of the CEO of Britain's Oldest Brewery ShepherdNeame. I wonder what is the opinion of jdwtweetsuk the UK's largest pub group?
RogerProtzBeer Thought Boris said it was up to pubs to decide. If it's mandatory for them to check then that's the end of pubs for me. People vaccinated can still get Covid, not everyone can have/wants to be vaccinated & you can still carry virus if you have been. What happen to human rights?
Are they supposed to do it the same as checking if people where from the same household last year? As I didn't see a single check happening when I went out.
What if you haven't yet been offered the vaccine by the time pubs open? Punished for being young, fit and healthy?
Nono lets do it, because obviously if this happens then staff will have to be vaccinated too? Or would they send young people into a risky workplace and then not allow them to go in the exact same place to socialise
Classic diversionary tactic by Johnson to stop headlines about other matters such as his ongoing failure to put forward a social care plan that was promised ages ago.
They must hate money then if they’re stupid enough to go through with this 🤦♂️
Best part is a vaccinated person can still spread it.
Before you all take the selfish route of 'how dare you' - pubs had to close as soon as they opened because some daft bastard somewhere had brought Covid into their pub and only informed them after. Landlords have a right to know who is entering their establishment.
Sounds reasonable - in Turkey we have to show a HES code that proves we are free of Covid before entering any shopping mall or food hall so why can't Brits prove they are free of covid before entering a pub, restaurant, shop, coffee house etc?
This would be one of the dumbest things the government have done (hard to imagine, I know). BJ seems keen to demonstrate how little understanding he and his policy makers have about how hospitality businesses work.
👏cheer cheer
Where does this end though? Proof of vaccination to get on a train, bus or in a taxi? What about cafes, theatres and museums? What about offices, will you need to have proof you've had a vaccine to go back to an office?
Just tattoo a dam barcode to ours heads why dont you
Now watch all the none vaccine lot clamber for a vaccine now 🤣🤣 brilliant move this 🤣🤣🤣
Landlord is such a fucked up word
