Speaking on BBC Radio 4's Today programme, Mr Davis - who quit as Brexit secretary in protest at former prime minister Theresa May's Brexit plan - said it would be a"fair race" to reach a trade deal with the EU by the end of 2020.
Mr Davis said reaching a deal was"not a charitable exercise, this is an exercise of both sides recognising their own best interests"."It was going to be 21 months, now it is only 11, but nevertheless it can be done in the time period."Mairead McGuinness, the vice president of the European Parliament, said progress to agree a trade deal"might be left to the very last minute".
Instead of reporting how ‘sad’ the French President may (or may not be), do you not consider the French riots that are happening almost daily to be more NEWS worthy?
A lack of coverage on the riots and stuff.. but yeah let's report on this..
Yes BBC he is sad because he has riots in the streets which for som reason you refuse to report. Biased BBC.
How about covering his police beating the snot out of protesters? Seems newsy.
That's the frogs having to cough up more cash to prop up that failed concept the EU. Oh well, Frexit next, if they stop protesting...before a civil war again lol.
That's because he's worried who will pay for his countries lifestyle. France to leave EU next. Macron on borrowed time. He shouldn't have taken advice from Tony Blair & co. He should sort out his border force and prevent economic immigrants reaching British soil.
He's not the only one
Sad about their fishing quota's more like.
macron knock knock , who is there ; boo
He doesn't seem 'deeply sad' about his police beating the crap out of the French citizens and firefighters...the news story you haven't mentioned in 65 weeks...
crocodile tears, He and his I'll were not saddened enough at the prospect to offer reasonable terms to Cameron at the beginning.
I'm not
Macron should be deeply sad, at the state of his own country
JIHAD WATCH Exposing the role that Islamic jihad theology and ideology play in the modern global conflicts Sweden’s Prime Minister admits that rise of anti-Semitism stems from mass Muslim migration JAN 31, 2020 1:00 PM BY ROBERT SPENCER
His country is basically on fire, any chance you're going to mention this at all?
It is interesting that our Media appear to have tired of the continuing protests on Paris streets or the continued slaughter of Syrian children but can cause anger and division in the UK with appalling Brexit journalism
Think he needs to be sad about the constant riots in France first
'Deeply Sad' Are you kidding...
If Macron's sad, I am glad!
.....because we all care what macron thinks! The man who's run down his own country to the point that french police are clubbing rioting firefighters in the streets of their capital city IndependenceDay IndependenceDayUK Abiolishthebbc
Who gives a damn how Macron feels. BBC in what way are you 'British'?
Been out on the motorbike today, the world is still revolving, petrol prices have fallen in my local area by a couple of pence, there’s no riots or dissent anywhere, there was a queue if traffic causing a bit ilof a jam in Long Eaton, but, eventually even that cleared!
......deeply sad...no fishes..
Have you been to Paris lately!
The EU was Hitlers plan for post war Europe.
WHAT WAS THE PURPOSE
Don't worry though sunshine I'll still be coming to France on my holidays and spending my hard earned £'sss in your holiday resorts.
Perhaps if he (and his predecessors) hadn't said 'Non' so often and just perhaps if they'd been more reasonable over fishing quotas and fair access to waters, and perhaps if they hadn't joined forces with the Germans against the UK so often it might not have come to this.
Oh you report this from France but not a word on the riots happening everyday against this little dictator!!! France is burning!!! 🇫🇷
I bet he is beating down his own people for months.. France is a powder keg. And France & Germany will have to pick up the slack as far as contributions are concerned
ScrapTheLicenseFee
The BBC's coverage was just another coffin nail towards its demise. It does not even try to be impartial. Ill stick with getting news from YouTube reddit Twitter ScrapTheLicenceFee
Why is this newsworthy? France is in a lot of trouble and you report this? WTF?!?!
Macron couldn't care less about the UK. But you already know that don't you.
You equate what macron says with what, er, David Davis says? Really
Very sorry to learn this. Maybe your 'yellow-vest' pioneers might share a few tears too. Not for Brexit having reached a satisfactory escape velocity; but maybe on account of the lack of any expeditiousness when dealing with policies of national importance.🤪🤪
Beer sales will go up as Brits try to drown the sorrows of stupidity. BrexitReality.
Yeah , did he pray on it like SpeakerPelosi
How does he feel about his police beating the shit out of Frenchmen?
Should look around is own back door France is falling apart
Needs to worry about what is going on in France..😡
No wonder BBC reports this , their coverage of last night in Parliament Sq was so bad but I guess it’s what we have to expect, now the Sky news guy who dislikes Boris is Political Editor it will only get worse. The item for Children on our history is disgraceful.
I don't think Macron is sad for the U.K., I think he is sad for the E.U..
Yes? really? beware the French remember de Gaulle!
Whilst ignoring his people.
اوووه الساعة الكبيرة والله !!
Who cares what the Rothschild puppet Macron says, he needs to worry about his own problems, he's been beating his citizens, fire fighters and the rest for over a year now that are saying no to globalism.
We are family
Macron is a liar
Any balance in your coverage today, BBC?
I see Downing Street pinched the myMotorhead light show
Should be looking after his country . It's falling apart .
I bet he is.
It’s the beginning of the end of old world powers UK & USA. Dumb.
Who cares?
Watching the brexit celebrations last night on TV & was amazed that the patriotic folk who attended needed the words of God save the Queen on a big screen.....🤔
Macron, LMFAO. You need to start looking after your own people, stop worrying about us Brits.
I bet he is...no more cosying in on our money!
He's not as deeply sad and upset as the Biased Brussels Club BBC though.
The French are probably sad to lose us subsidising their lifestyles!
💜 you Macron
Suck it up baby...
GiletsJaunes i would have thought he's got his own worries.
He isn’t the only one
