Two-year-old girl dies after falling from pony during hunt meeting in North Yorkshire

A Bedale Hunt spokesperson said the girl had fallen in a"tragic accident" and that members of the hunt were supporting her family. On Saturday, officers confirmed the girl had died in hospital in the early hours of Thursday. Event officials said members of the hunt had been left"devastated" and were supporting her family.

Riding at 2 in the equestrian world is not unusual. But not at a hunt, where there’s lots of noise and commotion and clearly no one supervising well enough to catch her. Terribly, terribly sad

God I hate toffs like this. Too busy instilling in a child how to hunt instead of how to preserve and value nature. All my sympathies got out to this poor innocent child but absolutely none to her parents at all!

A 2 year old hasn’t got the mentality of sitting on a pony or Focus of sitting on an animal ! Ridiculous!

What the hell is a two year-old doing on a horse?!! If that was a working class family taking a similar risk with a child there would be outrage.

I think this poor child was to young to go on a pony because they are unpredictable animals and I used to keep horse's so I know , sorry to hear about the child's tragedy and RIP little girl . 💔 🙏

Hopefully this Bedale Hunt will stop their activity. Bad karma.
