- but a TV drama has the power to really plunge you into a person's life.
"It broke me," Bryan said of the ordeal in a 2019 BBC documentary, which is being repeated five days after the drama. Bryan had to prove he really had arrived in the 60s and been in the UK ever since. The Home Office thought he was lying, he told MPs in 2018. "Initially, I think he was disappointed and hurt and felt like he was being treated like a criminal by his own country when he'd done nothing wrong," Thompson continues.
"When you hear more about it, you just think, that could be me or my brother," Robinson says."So yes, it's outrageous and sadly par for the course to do with bureaucracy and government, especially the British government."
This could be anyone of our family. In fact we feel it because he is one of our family

This is how the Tories treat black people who have lived in, worked in, loved, & contributed to our country in so many ways,& who we once welcomed as our own to the UK. The Tories since their election victory in 2010 have revealed the racism at their core. toriesout Windrush
Link anything to windrush and and BBC will advertise it. Pathetic.
Wonder why BBc put this on tonight? So transparent
DefundTheBBC

Fantastic drama, I hope more people become aware of the windrush scandal as a result
OMG can’t believe how wrong the government got this. Those poor people who went through the stress and lost everything compensate those people now, why are they waiting for compensation.
Maybe the BBC should reschedule due to the current climate?
This was so harrowing to watch. I can’t believe Anthony Bryan and without doubt so many many others were treated so inhumanly. After all he’s suffered, he’s yet to receive compensation inlimbo
This is the most frightening and disturbing film I’ve seen.
Utterly ashamed of the government.
Well coincimental
I hope he used the Reparations Act
Irony
