In her first speech after being announced the winner of the leadership contest, Ms Truss said she had a "bold plan" in store to cut taxes and tackle the energy crisis.

No. She's not freezing energy prices. She's subsidising them with a huge taxpayers' gift. Funnily enough, the Tax Dodgers' Alliance stay quiet in this. Truss is a puppet of the super rich, however much the right wing press try to convince us otherwise

If this happens it's a good move from her and I support it. It means mine and my families life is better the next 2 years. A freeze is needed and she is doing it. The problems with politics in the UK, is people will go against her and want her to fail due to party affiliation.
I’d like to believe that could happen, but something tells me it likely won’t, and even if she does pull that off, there WILL be a nasty sting in the tail.
Freezing prices is no bloody good. They need to be frozen AND dramatically reduced. Freezing them at the current rates is going to help absolutely no one but the companies making bank hand over fist. FFS!
I said it before, the Tories create a mess, find a new PM, then resolve the mess to make themselves look good, then have a reshuffle. When a GE is called, surely the majority of the public aren't going to fall for this crap again. It's been happening for 12 yrs. Enough is enough!

It's already been reported that the deal to freeze prices will allow the energy companies to recoup any lost profits due to the freeze in the future, so all she's doing is kicking the can down the road, we will all pay eventually.

About a decade ago I posited that the death of the currency would come shortly after schemes to socialise the cost of property followed by schemes to socialise the cost of energy.
