Jamie Barrow, from Clifton, who brutally murdered a family by setting their flat on fire, has had his minimum prison term reduced.
Living next door to Hydara and her children, Barrow committed the horrendous act by pouring petrol through the letterbox of their Fairisle Close home in the early hours of November 20, 2022, before setting it alight as they slept. The victims tragically passed away due to smoke inhalation, Nottinghamshire Live reports.During the appeal, Chris Henley KC, representing Barrow, argued that the 44-year term was "manifestly excessive" compared to other similar arson murder cases.
After deliberations, the Appeal Court acknowledged "some force" in the appeal but did not agree with all points raised. It agreed that the originally set minimum term was excessively long.
