Tributes have been paid to a ‘strikingly beautiful’ and ‘accomplished’ clinical psychologist of 22 years who dedicated her life to helping others.
Julie was a kind and caring child and family specialist helping children with anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioural and attachment difficulties. She was seen as a beacon of light, offering struggling families guidance and support.“She was very professional and she was dedicated to her work. She was very popular amongst her friends and everyone appreciated her supportive nature.
She went on to do a doctorate at Lancaster University in clinical psychology. Julie was trained and accredited in Cognitive Behavioural therapy, Parent Child Game, Video Interaction Guidance and was training in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy when she retired, a therapy to work with the most traumatised children.
The inseparable pair tied the knot in 1996 at Sacred Heart Church in Blackburn. They found a home in Clayton-lee-Moors for five years and then moved to Billington where they lived for 17 years. Julie was a brilliant cook and her family were always excited to tuck into her delicious ice cream cake during the festive season.
