Students say lockdown learning in their bedrooms is not what they paid for

Shahril says students of practical arts and design courses at UAL and the RCA have struggled without sufficient time in studios and workshops. “I’ve seen students who have been forced to do metal smelting at home and burned their hands, or who have been painting in small unventilated spaces,” she says. “Students are scrambling to rent expensive private studios they can’t afford.”

Unfortunately they are treated like cash cows because they are cash cows. Nobody in their right mind pays such obscene fees for useless arts degrees. They signed a contract, now regret it and want to collectively threaten the university who is not at fault for the pandemic.

Yet another article from the rag, supporting yet more government spending. That is all this rag wants, just like the labour party is to spend, spend, spend. The labour party and therefore its voicepiece have no other policy

They are cash cows and that has had a negative knock on effect on HE as a whole.

Every single citizen outside the privileged ones is treated as a cash cow in the UK. How is this not a scandal?

Trade descriptions. You were promised x you got a third of x. Makes sense to refund the difference. Unfortunately nobody likes giving money back.

45,000$ for an average university in the USA to 80,000$ for a good one, per annum. The UK should charge more!

Sounds fair enough. If you booked a room at a hotel, but were then not allowed to use all the facilities you were promised, then you shouldn't be paying the full bill
