Town centre pub which became swingers club shuts down after row

A businessman who turned a pub into a swingers club in a historic market town says he is being forced to close - because of a row over blacking out windows to give his ‘clients’ privacy. Matthew Cole, 35, converted the former wine bar into a place for swinging couples to have sex in the centre of the Lincolnshire town of Grantham.

Locals also argued having a swinger’s club in the picturesque town was not in keeping with the image of the area. But Matthew says he is now being forced to close down after the landlords of the venue in Market Place brought his lease to an end. “They told me I had not complied with certain conditions but I have always been open and honest about what we do here. They said I had blacked out windows but I have just put blinds up for privacy purposes. It’s to protect our own clients as well as those on the outside.
