With many leaders backing Black Lives Matter over George Floyd’s death, a former official leads criticism of ‘perilously archaic’ institution

A former senior Church of England official has criticised the institution’s record on racism, while many of its bishops are publicly backing the Black Lives Matter movement.

Perhaps the Guardian could publish a helpful sliding scale of skin tones so we can all assess our level of privilege and engage in the appropriate self-abasement.

Says you can count the number of black bishops on one hand.. well out of 100 bishops the proportion is about right as black people make up around 3% of the UK population... just saying.

Church of England has been around for twice as long as the US. Think about that

We have no people of colour in my C of E church on the PCC even though we have people of colour in our congregation.
