Toney, 26, was called up to the England squad for the first time in September for the Nations League fixtures against Italy andThe Brentford striker did not make an appearance for Gareth Southgate’s side but when asked about the experience following Brentford’s win on Friday night, Toney told Sky Sports he “did not feel out of place”.

“You’re playing with the best of the best and, without being big-headed, I didn’t feel out of place,” he said.
